When I went to this cleaners for the first time last week, the girl there said that laundered shirts cost $1.95 per shirt. I picked up the shirts and they charged $2.50 per shirt (before tax). I don't appreciated a business that quotes you one price and charges you another when there is no contingency involved. This sure sounds like deceptive trade practices to me.
They have ruined several of my shirts and now they have totally ruined a down coat. I asked them to fix the down coat that they ruined and returned it to me exactly the same way and billed me for not fixing what they ruined.
Okay so - we took my sister's First Communion dress to see if they could some small alterations. The lady said it would be about $80 but told us the tailor wouldn't be there until Monday, and she would ask for an exact price and call us to give us the right information. She suggested we leave the dress the with her so the tailor could see it and give a real price. Monday came, and we didn't get a call. I stopped by on Tuesday morning and the same lady from days before told me that she had already sent the dress to get fixed. I asked if it was going to be $80 (which was a little over our budget considering it wasn't that big of an alteration) and she said it would now be $100. I asked her to get her tailor to send the dress back, unaltered - because we didn't get a call on Monday about the price and therefore we couldn't have said no then. She said there was nothing she could do and claimed my mother had given the okay on sending the dress to be altered for $100 the day we dropped it off. My mom did not agree. I asked for the tailor's number and was told that it could not be given to me since it was a personal cellphone number, so I asked them to please call them on my behalf to get the dress back. The lady laughed in my face and told me there was nothing she could do. She kept repeating "What are you going to do? You're going to talk to her?" and giggling. I really just wanted a dress back, a dress that we left only so the tailor could see it and give a fair, real price. We didn't leave the dress with any commitment and at that point I really thought we weren't going to get it back. After about an hour of talking to the lady, she finally called the tailor and told her to not do any work on the dress, which we were now going to get back days later. I would not recommend them at all :|
