I took my 5yr old on the trick-or-treat train yesterday and had a lot of fun.The interior is decorated with kid-friendly Halloween decorations (not scary) and open seating anywhere you like in any of the rail cars. It's a non-stop 1hr ride that goes 30mins in one direction and then reverses back to the station. There is one car that is not enclosed and it was cold with all the wind, but the other cars are enclosed and heated and very comfortable. There is a lady that walks through taking a photo of your group. She offers it to you in a commemorative frame at the end of the ride for $8. There is a confession stand that sells popcorn and drinks (soft drinks, juice, and water) for $1-1.50/each. If you have cash you can purchase concession items from a lady who walks the train taking and delivering concession orders. Towards the end of the ride, another lady comes through and puts one piece of candy in all of the children's candy buckets (everyone got ringpops on this ride). It wasn't crowded and the staff was very nice. My son really loved the experience and has asked if we can go on a train ride for Christmas. I recommend the trick-or-treat train to anyone with young kids looking for a fun, safe, and low-key Halloween event.

Sheriff Joshua was great, our little boy got a badge for keeping the bad guys away from the train, and we got a nice photo as a souvenir. Good times were had by all.

Road the fun ride for an hour. It is the perfect length for a toddler. We played a game halfway through. Lots of fun. Great memories. The train has been taken care of.

Absolute blast!! If you are looking for something fun to do, I HIGHLY recommend doing this. Not only is this train over 100 years old, it has a very prestigious feel to it when you are costing along the Texas farmlands. There's even a point where you cross over a tressel. This attraction does take about 5 hours in total. The train stops at the Stockyards and gives you about an hour to shop and/or eat. When I took this train it was my first time seeing the stockyards. Very cool experience.

We went from grapevine to the Ft. Worth stock yards in style. We were on the air conditioned first class car. I was surprised it stayed as cool as it did, I figured air conditioned would be two degrees above the ambient temperature outside but it was really nice...because we did go outside to get some hot dogs and popcorn and then back to the comfy seats.

This ride is very enjoyable! The staff is nice, and they have pretty unique stuff in the depot. But if you ride it, you might be a bit delayed because of freight trains. Still, I love this train
